A Little Update

Nicole, Bryan and the boys spent Labor Day weekend down in Iowa. It sounds like they had a good time and even got a little rest (thanks to Grandma Cheri for getting up with Griffin). Griffin was able to meet Grandma & Grandpa Johnson, Great-Grandma & Grandpa Griffin and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Nicole showed up at her Grandpa Griffin's birthday party and surprised her grandparents. It sounds like her grandma was VERY excited to see her!
She continues to feel fairly well other than some back pain. Tomorrow she'll have labs drawn to make sure her blood counts are not dipping too low. She has also been strongly "advised" to mention the back pain to the nurse;) Griffin has a check-up on Wednesday-I can't believe he's already 3 weeks old! Brock is doing well and I heard he even spent Saturday night alone with Grandma Linny!
I wanted to also thank everyone who has left comments. Nicole does read them daily and I know she appreciates your support!
Here are some pictures I took of Brock in his sprinkler the other day:

Nicole,
You are an amazing young lady. Getting to spend time with you and all 3 of your boys on Sunday was precious. Griffin is as adorable as Brock. We are blessed that you and your family were able to make the trip to Spencer. As I watched you with your sons, I was touched by your patience and admired your strength. You are a courageous woman who truly has so much to offer others. We continue to pray for you and your family. I know you have such a determined spirit within you that you will persevere, fight, and win this battle. We love you so much.
Love,
Aunt Brenda

Hey Nicole- I am thinking about you and praying for you daily. Your boys are beautiful. They remind me of mine, but my youngest is in a "naughty stage" (16 months). Sometimes I miss the sweet innocence of a newborn. ;)

While I have not experienced what you are going through first hand, I have had several patients in similar situations. I can kind of understand what you are going through. Many of my patients spend alot of time with me while I'm doing the tests ordered for them. Many times they just need someone to talk to that isn't as directly involved as a family member. I have become a pretty good sounding board. If you are having a day like that, please feel free to call or email me. I would be honored to be your sounding board. jlstadsvold@yahoo.com

We will keep praying for you and your family. Please don't hesitate to call or email. Jayme (Tewes)Stadsvold

Nicole, it was so wonderful to have your family visit this weekend. I'm thankful you felt strong enough to make the trip. I've always admired the person that you are. You're always there for your family and always thoughtful and loving. I've watched you become a wife and mother and you excel at both. It's that love for and from your family that will help you stay strong, be patient and fight this battle. Please know that we are always only a phone call away if ever you need anything. We love you. Cheri & John

Nicole, Your mom (Linda) is my cousin. We had lots of fun times growing up. I, too, have a Nicole. You were born in Nov before she was born in June. Now you are in the midst of a battle we can only imagine. Know that our prayers join all the others that are surrounding you. You and your family have been added to our church prayer list. We will continue to follow your progress as you beat down this cancer.

I know the strength you mother has, and can see by the many other posters' comments that you have inherited her strength. Continue to stand tall, enjoy every moment of life and show this cancer thing whose boss!!

Congratulations on those boys, by the way!!! They look pretty darn precious!

Our love reaches across the miles,
May God bless you each and every day. Sue S and family in Kansas

Hey Coco,
Auntie Sandy here and gosh I sure feel like I missed out, not being able to see you, Bryan, and your handsome boys. I'm sure looking forward to seeing you this coming weekend. Hope your back is feeling better and it's just the affects of chemo. You stay strong and upbeat, attitude is so so very important in this battle. I know you can do it cause you have overcome so many trials in your life and made positives out of them. Your smile is contagious, miss that.
Love you mucho!!
Sandy
